Mr. Quarls became the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company in January 2017. He currently serves as a Managing Director at Global Infrastructure Partners, a $40 billion infrastructure private equity fund with an emphasis on North American midstream energy. Mr. Quarls is Chairman of the Board of Penn Virginia Corporation and is a director of Fairway Resources LLC and Opal Resources LLC, all of which are private equity backed exploration and production companies. Mr. Quarls spent 27 years at Booz & Co. where he served as the Managing Director and Practice Leader for Global Energy. He held various worldwide leadership roles during his tenure including serving on the Executive, Compensation, Personnel, and Finance Committees. Previously, Mr. Quarls was the Chairman of Trident Resources Corp. Mr. Quarls holds an MBA from Stanford University and ScM and B.S. degrees, both in Chemical Engineering, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Tulane University, respectively.
Mr. Iacono joined the Company as a director in October 2013. He is a former Co-Chairman and an Executive Director of Pacific Exploration and Production Corporation. Mr. Iacono has been involved in the financing and development of mining, oil and other resources projects in the United States, Latin America and Europe for over 28 years and has raised more than four billion dollars for numerous natural resource projects. He is a founding member of Blue Pacific Investments Group Ltd., which owns investments in infrastructure, mining, oil and gas and farming assets. Currently, Mr. Iacono is Executive Co-Chairman of Gran Colombia Gold Corp.
Mr. Lehner joined the Company as a director in October 2013. He is a Managing Director at Anchorage Capital Group, L.L.C. where he is responsible for the firm's investments across energy, transportation, and metals and mining. Prior to joining Anchorage he was a Managing Director at Mount Kellett Capital Management, LP from 2009 to 2013 where he focused on investments in energy, refining, chemicals, autos, and metals and mining. Mr. Lehner was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley where he worked from 2001 to 2009. He holds a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Maryland and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Mr. Brown joined the Company as a director in April 2014. He has over 30 years of experience in the energy and resource industries, 25 of which have been focused on the engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) side of the oil & gas industry. Most recently, Mr. Brown was a co-founder of Seven Generations Energy Ltd. and was employed from its inception as Director, Technology. Mr. Brown retired from full-time work with the company in 2012. Prior to Seven Generations, Mr. Brown was a co-founder of North American Oil Sands Corporation where he acted as Vice President, EPC. In 2002, Mr. Brown co-founded and managed Acres Parsons Energy & Chemicals Ltd., an engineering and project management company whose legacy continues as part of Hatch Ltd. Mr. Brown holds a B.Sc. in Geological Engineering from the University of Manitoba, is a practicing member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors at the Rotman School of Management.
Mr. Holcomb joined the Company as a director in October 2013. He is Vice President of Acquisitions and Divestitures of Lewis Energy Group, a private oil and gas company with operations in Texas, Mexico and Colombia. Mr. Holcomb is Board Certified in Tax Law and Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1983 and was one of the first attorneys in Texas board certified in both of these specialty areas. Mr. Holcomb obtained his B.A. in Finance in 1974 from University of Texas, a J.D. in 1977 from St. Mary's University School of Law and an LL.M. in Taxation in 1978 from New York University.
Mr. Chwyl joined the Company as a director in April 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. He is a retired businessman with over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in North America. Mr. Chwyl served as Chief Executive Officer of Marathon Oil Canada Ltd. from 1998 until becoming an independent businessman in 2002. From 1989 to 1998 he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Tarragon Oil and Gas Limited. Prior thereto, he held various technical and executive positions within the oil and gas industry in Canada and the United States. Mr. Chwyl is Lead Independent Director of Baytex Energy Corp. and a director of Kaisen Energy Corp. He has been a director of many public and private oil and gas companies including Chairman of Navigo Energy Inc. and its predecessor, Ventus Energy Ltd., from 1998 to 2002, Chairman of Ascot Energy Resources, Chairman of Oiltec Resources Ltd., and a director of Great Northern Exploration Ltd. and Best Pacific Resources Ltd.
